‘Walking Dead’ Adds Three New Characters for Season 4

With The Walking Dead being a series about a zombie apocalypse and the day-to-day risk of being either ghoul chow or falling victim to other, less scrupulous survivors, an influx of fresh blood is both expected and necessary. Several recurring characters from season three have already been promoted to series regulars for season four, and Lawrence Gilliard Jr. (The Wire) was also recently added as a former Army medic. But now, there’s a report that says three, all-new recurring characters will also be joining the fun in season four.

So who are these people? Well TV Line got the scoop.

The show could just as easily wind up being too busy with new recurring characters like Laura, a single mom and ex-nurse who isn’t quite as strong as she first appears; Melody, a ‘just one of the guys’ kinda gal in her 20s; and Don, who sounds like Hershel, if Hershel were crankier and two-legged.

I don’t know The Walking Dead comics that well, but do any of these people sound familiar? And personally, while I can understand TV Line’s concern about a bloated cast, I think The Walking Dead is a far cry from the true king of casting over-population, True Blood. Seriously, that show’s like a character hydra: for every character killed, two will rise. Anyway, who do you Bastards think should be cast in these new roles? Are you looking forward to seeing season four?

More news as it develops.
